Training in the 12th Field Cavalry Regiment is ridged; these troopers are expected to display the finest qualities in young military cadets. Discipline is important and needed to maintain a high standard but there are still those cadets who don’t make the grade.

Trooper Charles (Nicholas Slater) is certainly one of those and he is quickly dispatched to Sergeant Chambers for an off the record punishment. In time honoured fashion the Sergeant will quickly have the young cadet’s bare backside matching a red coat as he lies yelping over his knee. However this time the CO has suggested a thrashing with the birch would be an excellent follow up! In the military this can often mean a single freshly cut whippy birch branch rather than a bunch of twigs. Trooper Charles is certainly getting his stripes but these really burn, not in the way he may have wanted.

Tests of Elementary training, TOETs, are important to pass. However Trooper Gordon (Darren) has failed to do this again. Sergeant Chambers certainly has his work cut out as again a young cadet is over his knee having his bare bottom slapped red raw. The nearest follow up implement in a mounted regiment has to be the short platted leather riding whip or ‘crop’ as it is known. Usually for coaching horses it is equally successful in disciplining their disobedient riders. The fast reddening lashes are definitely scorching the smooth rounded and now tender backside of Trooper Gordon!

A clean and serviceable rife is an essential part of any cadet’s kit. Not so in the case of trooper Clarke (Rudi Vallance) his weapon is found to be far below standard. Sent by the C.O. for some off the record corrective treatment he too finds himself over the knee of the platoon Sergeant. This cadet, also the regimental rugby team captain, is really feeling the stinging slaps the Sergeant can deliver on to his well-rounded and muscular bare bottom. This time however to follow up its going to be the training whip much used in a cavalry regiment’s such as this. This instrument with its fiery lash can be just as effective on the rump of a young cadet as it is on the rear of a stallion in training.

The training NCO Sergeant Chambers (Marco) himself is not beyond reproach and the C.O. is very annoyed by his misconduct. Meeting up in the training room it’s the Sergeant now who is feeling the bitter sting of a good spanking! After which the saddle strap will be burning its message in to his rounded bare bottom! The sharp scorching kiss of old oiled leather on defenceless bare skin is a familiar sound in the regiment, good military discipline will be maintained no matter what!
