There are many stories and rumours from the past about off the record army discipline. Here we present three such cadets for your delectation ( Jack Finch, Finn Harper & Tim Ptacek) all guilty of military misdemeanors.

It's worth noting historically that boy soldiers were sometimes informally spanked, strapped or caned. School type caning was legal at Army Apprentice Schools until the middle of the 1950's.

Junior soldiers in the regular army too could be sentenced by the Commanding Officer to receive 'strokes', a formal caning carried often out by the Regimental Sergeant Major.
Over the years unofficial punishment has taken place in the armies of various countries from time to time, without raising any particular notice. Let us know in the comments if you have ever had any experience of this.
